Celebrations 2013 - 20 Years of ELSA

ELSA was established in January 1993. In 2003 we held a massive 10 year Celebration Day, opened by the Mayor of Fylde and attended by the Press and local radio stations. Throughout the day students performed. Workshops took place in which members of the public could try out their theatrical abilities. The ELSA theme song was performed and the recording available for purchase. Boards displayed the work of ELSA over ten years. Past ELSA students and graduates were invited and attended. During the evening friends, students and families of ELSA went to Tiggis for a celebratory meal.

To celebrate 20 years of ELSA all this was magnified. We had a wonderful working committee of parents, students and graduates working on planning the event which took place on March 9th 2013. The Celebration Day was opened by the Mayor of Fylde and her Consort at Church Rd Methodist Centre, St. Annes. We had a magnificent raffle with wonderful prizes donated by local businesses including spa days, hampers, hairdos and gym memberships. Display boards, competitions, sweet stalls, workshops, cake stands, refreshments and performances were provided throughout the day. A large slide screen projected images of ELSA's 20 years. Storytellers Inc. presented 'Storytime' for the Under 7s. The new recording of 'Children of Tomorrow' was available to purchase and this was performed live by students. The official ELSA photograph was on sale. The ELSA birthday cake was cut following the Grand Draw and speeches at 3pm. We received a letter of congratulations from HRH Prince Charles. The Press gave us a huge covering of the event.

On the evening of March 9th a concert was performed by students, graduates, friends and families to lead into the main event.

Thank you to all our sponsors and to the ELSA Committee for all their hard work, support and generous donations.
